Catherine Trenton Pieces: Our First Customer Review for our very own CTJ 'Florette' Diamond Earrings

Anyone who has ever produced or made something I am sure will understand my happiness at waking up this morning to a positive product review for my very first sale of my own CTJ 'Florette' Diamond Earrings.

As a collector starting out selling pre-loved luxury jewellery, ie second-hand Tiffany & Co. diamond jewellery, second-hand Cartier pieces etc I've always relied on the fact that the pieces I acquire are the best and most beautiful. I've also been lucky in that the pre-loved luxury brands I deal with are already associated with creating the most refined jewellery available. On top of this, years of collecting jewellery has trained my eye into being even more detail oriented towards jewellery than I was before.

It has always been a bit of a double edged sword, but I can't help but notice things on jewellery that other people don't see - such as if there is a hairline mark or smudge on a buffed platinum piece, or if the diamonds are E coloured vs G coloured. It's a double edged sword in that it is probably a little bit OCD (anyone who has a bit of OCD in them whether it comes to cleaning or cooking will understand what I mean!) in that noticing these things, well...bug you. However on the positive side that same high level of attention to detail does help. It helps in that you do whatever it is you are doing to a high standard.

So to finally launch my first earrings on Facebook on New Years Day 2018 was both exciting and nerve wracking. Anybody who has ever developed something with their own reputation attached to it, will understand how I felt. You know or feel that the item is good, but you are still so unsure about what will resonate with your customers and what they will like. Also as you are so closely involved you can't help but think about where improvements can be made too.

I sincerely hope that my attention to detail and my eye for designer jewellery will transfer to my own pieces. It has been a pipeline dream for such a long time, so for it to finally become a reality is a very exciting time for me.
